Around the world the whitewater scene continues to grow its core, with passionate boaters dedicating themselves to pursuing a life filled with whitewater. Amongst these boaters exist many with a passion for whitewater competition and there are great events happening every year that highlight that. However, for whitewater racing there is no organized leadership, and in freestyle the governing bodies have too long ignored athlete pleas for events on top level freestyle features. In an attempt to give direction and leadership from within, and to regain some control over the image of kayaking that is getting into the mainstream, the AWP was created. Founded in 2010 by Patrick Camblin, the AWP brings together a founding membership of over 100 of the worlds top racers, freestylers, and all-around whitewater legends. At present this includes boaters from 21 different countries. We believe that by banding together we have created something with more relevance than the current structures that exist, and with our voices brought together and amplified, that we can help give direction to grow the competitive side of whitewater.
The Whitewater World Series operates as a Point Series from 6 races, as chosen by the AWP membership.
Stage 1: The Little White Championship (Washington State, USA) – June 3rd
Stage 2: The North Fork Championship (Idaho, USA) – June 26th – June 8-9th

Stage 4: Devils Extreme Race (Czech Republic) – September 1st
Stage 5: Sickline Championships (Austria) – October 4th -7th

The Whitewater World Series will operate as a Point Series from these six great races happening in 2012 (chosen by the AWP membership).
